OK.
So here is my first photography journal entry for 2020. I switched from blog to journal because I felt like it allowed me more flexibility to lead with photos and not words. That’s not to say I don’t have things to say or share with words, what it means for me is, right now I’m in a personal space where my expression is through photos.
I brought my first DSLR camera 10 years ago. It was for a class that was apart of a graphic design curriculum I was in at the time. The assignment gave me two choices, use images others had created or create my own.
Now here is the personal insight, I over think everything, doubts creep in, insecurities, trauma surfaces, often causing decision paralysis. I have done a lot of self work to be at a point today to openly share my growth. The self work is hard, a lot of the times heavy, and sometimes lonely. During those times we look for ways to cope, some of those methods are healthy, and some not so healthy. Well to keep things on track, one of the things that I used to cope was my camera. There was a newness to life that was available when I looked at things through the viewfinder on my camera.
My intention with this journal is to share.
Not to only share work to get hired and build a business, but to also share my story a well. See in order to earn the trust of others to tell the story of their brand or business, I have to tell mine as well.
I value humanity, loyalty, and kindness. I encourage you to engage if you choose, I will always listen, but I will also respectfully agree to disagree.
If you have read this far, thank you. Talk soon…
